Get On Board by Principal Kim White

This year’s theme is the energy BUS (Building a United School). This concept includes ten simple rules:

  1. You’re the driver of your bus.
  2. Desire, vision, and focus move your bus in the right direction.
  3. Fuel your ride with positive energy.
  4. Invite People on your bus and share your vision for the road ahead.
  5. Don’t waste energy on those who don't go on your bus.
  6. Post a sign that says NO ENERGY VAMPIRES ALLOWED on your bus.
  7. Enthusiasm attracts more passengers and energizes them during the ride.
  8. Love your passengers.
  9. Drive with purpose.
  10. Have fun and enjoy the ride.

This will be our force to unite students, staff, community, and parents during these financially difficult times.

This year, while paying fees, you will see a $25.00 fee for participation. This is a one time fee for 6th - 12th graders that will help off-set transportation costs. The $25.00 assessed fee is for all activities but only charged once regardless of the activity (i.e. sports, clubs, class field trips, etc.)

Another fee that sophomores through seniors will be charged is a $75.00 computer rental assessment. Mr. McDorman will be available during enrollment to review contracts with parents and students.

A positive reminder about cell phones—they are not allowed on campus. Although cell phones have their usefulness, they are not necessary in an educational environment. First offense will be a 45 minute detention, second offense will be two 45 minute detentions, and the third offense will be an in-school suspension.

This year we are hosting a Back-To-School night on Monday, August 31 from 6 pm—8 pm for parents and students. We are hopefully that you will attend. Students will be able to prepare their lockers (on the inside) and parents will become informed of classroom expectations for each class.

Also a reminder that on August 17th, all athletic practices begin and students must have a KSHSAA physical on file in the high school office.

I hope you enjoy the ride.
