Winter Homecoming will be January 29, 2010 with the theme "I'll Be" inspired by the song artist Edwin McCain. The candidates are: Seniors - Patrick Curl and Christa Curl; Juniors - Nick Creed and Casey Brown; Sophomores - Blake Wilkey and Martisa Browning; Freshmen - Bryce Byers and Ashton Barlow; and the first grade attendants are Garrett Howell and Emily Creed. The game Friday night will be against Sedan and the coronation will be during the half time of the boys game. The homecoming dance, however, will be on Saturday, January 30 beginning at 7:30 pm and ending at 10 pm. This year's dance will combine the Winter Homecoming with the Winter Ball. Instead of a "Snow Ball" the students have chosen to have a "Glow Ball" with many glow-in-the-dark bracelets and necklaces for the students to wear. There will also be blacklights so students will want to wear something that will glow in that light as well. This is a nice dance so students are encouraged to dress nice but jeans are allowed (with no holes). In other words, dress to impress - don't dress ratty or in poor taste (i.e. appropriate attire is required). The dance will be hosted by the student council with Porta Party serving as the DJ. Food and beverages will be included in the cost which is $2.00 per person.
Spirit Week will also take place for the Winter Homecoming. The days are as follows:
Monday - Cowboy Day (elementary - Blue Day)
Tuesday - 80's Day (elementary - Green Day)
Wednesday - PJ/Snuggie Day (elementary - Red Day)
Thursday - Opposite Sex Day (elementary - Black Day)
Friday - Maroon/Gray Day (elementary - Maroon Day)
Every day is hat, crazy hair, and face painting.
