Seniors Film "Hamlet" as English Project

This year's English 12 class decided to create a video of a scene from "Hamlet." After studying William Shakespeare's tragedy of the young prince from Denmark, the students decided to put their acting skills to the task and perform a scene from the play for video. This is a quite extensive project even though it is just one scene from the play. The class decided to perform the famous Act V, Scene 2 where Hamlet and Laertes duel and nearly everyone dies. Laertes dies, the queen dies, the king dies, and even Hamlet dies. Blood, blood, blood.

Winter Homecoming 2010

Winter Homecoming will be January 29, 2010 with the theme "I'll Be" inspired by the song artist Edwin McCain. The candidates are: Seniors - Patrick Curl and Christa Curl; Juniors - Nick Creed and Casey Brown; Sophomores - Blake Wilkey and Martisa Browning; Freshmen - Bryce Byers and Ashton Barlow; and the first grade attendants are Garrett Howell and Emily Creed. The game Friday night will be against Sedan and the coronation will be during the half time of the boys game. The homecoming dance, however, will be on Saturday, January 30 beginning at 7:30 pm and ending at 10 pm.

JH/HS Winter Concert - December 3rd, 2009

The JH/HS Winter Concert will be this Thursday, December 3rd. The Chili & Stew Dinner will begin @ 5:00 pm and will end by 6:30 pm. Donations accepted. The concert will begin @ 7:00 pm. The concert is free to the public.

"The Wizard of Oz" Takes South Haven by Storm

On November 12 - 14, 2009 the cast and crew of the South Haven High School "Wizard of Oz" swept the audiences with their spectacular performances.  Paying tribute to the 70th Anniversary of the famous story about a girl from Kansas finding herself in the middle of the fantasy world Oz, the director, Mrs.

1st Annual Salsa Cook Off (2009)

On September 25, students from Mrs. Blunk's Nutrition and Wellness classes competed in a salsa cook off. Students worked in groups of three or four and were challenged to research and created their own recipes. the ingredients were mostly home-grown and donated from local gardners. Samples of the recipes were sampled by teachers and students who scored their favorite salsa recipe. Below are pictures from the competition and the winners.
