NASA MEMBERS ATTEND MEDICINE LODGE POWWOW

The students walked in the parade carrying the large ceremonial drum, and later joined Native Americans throughout the Midwest in dancing at the PowWow area.

Alivia Bacon. NASA Princess, competed in the dance competition in a bells dress. Others learned the dances that were performed and their meaning. The purpose of the Native American Student Association is to enhance culture, academics, and successful leadership for our future American Indian leaders. Events like the PowWow give students the opportunity to learn about Native American history and culture through experience instead of textbooks.  Thank you to Casey Cullens for taking the pictures of the event. More pictures are available on the NASA page.
