SCHOOL MEAL PRICES FOR 2023-24

Meal charges may be paid by the day, week or month. If a student's meal balance reaches a -$25, an alternate meal will be served. You can always check your balance on the PowerSchool site. 

Breakfast will be served at 7:45 each morning. Students in grades 6-12 have the option to get breakfast in a bag after their first hour class.

USD 509 WELLNESS POLICY

South Haven USD 509 is committed to providing school environments that promote and protect children’s health, well-being and ability to learn by supporting healthy eating, nutrition education, physical activity and integrated school based wellness. The link below will take you to the wellness policy developed by USD 509 to meet the goals above. These goals apply to the students and staff of USD 509. Parents or patrons who wish to participate in the development or implementation of the policies should contact Mr. Farley, Superintendent.

USDA NONDISCRIMINATION STATEMENT

To file a program complaint of discrimination, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, (AD-3027)  at Filing a Program Discrimination Complaint as a USDA Customer  and at any USDA office, or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form. EAT SMART, PLAY HARD

KSDE has developed a new site called "Eat Smart Play Hard"  that has great tools for sharing health and wellness information. Check it out and fuel up to "Eat Smart and Play Hard".

CHOOSEMYPLATE.GOV

USDA updated MyPyramid to the "new" ChooseMyPlate Dietary Guidelines in 2010.    The new icon serves as a reminder for healthy eating.  This new shape helps with a new visual cue to guide in portion control.  The main visual is that over half your plate should be fruits & vegetables, a portion for whole grains, protein and dairy.  Check it out!
